Who are we?

The Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council, Inc. is a grass-roots non-profit organization founded in 1967 by the late Doroteo Arroyo and Juan M. Ruberte. Initially the organization was known as the "United Puerto Rican Parade Committee".

The organization gained 501c3 status in 1998, at which time it adapted the name Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council, Inc.  The goals and commitments of the organization did not change, however only broaden the organization's scope to allow room for the growth and strength need to service the community in the 21st Century.

A Note From The President

It is an honor for me to serve as the President of the Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council (APRCC) term 2019-2020. I am invested, committed, and happy to continue driving and promoting our Puerto Rican Heritage in our community.

I am honored and blessed to have the opportunity to work side by side with the APRCC board members, I am inspired by their energy and commitment. They are one of the main factors helping us drive and promote our heritage and mission in the Aurora Community.

I am excited as we are diligently working in bringing the Puerto Rican Heritage Festival "Back To Our Roots".   I hope to count with the community support to continue achieving the mission of encouraging and promoting Puerto Rican heritage through cultural and civic activities in our beautiful community.

I hope to lead by example, and earn your trust by being honest, accessible, open and respectful of diverse points of view. I am thankful to God and to the Aurora Puerto Rican community for placing their faith in the promise of my leadership. Thank you and may God Bless you and yours.

Sincerely.
